Corton-Charlemagne is one of Burgundy's grandest white wine appellations, a Grand Cru that wraps around the upper slopes of the hill of Corton and gives Chardonnay of unusual power, structure and longevity. The 2023 Paul & Jean-Louis Chavy Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is the first Grand Cru offered under the Chavy name, sourced through the negoce range Paul Chavy established in 2020, since Jean-Louis's own holdings are all in Puligny-Montrachet. The Chavy family has lived in Puligny for more than two centuries and makes Chardonnay in a pure, precise style, and 2023 was a warm, generous vintage that gave the Cote de Beaune ripe, rounded fruit.
