On the border where Puligny meets Meursault, Les Charmes is a village-level lieu-dit that sits directly alongside Meursault 1er Cru Charmes, and it shares some of that famous neighbour's richness and texture. The 2024 Jean-Louis Chavy Puligny-Montrachet Les Charmes is bottled on its own because the domaine considers it a notable step up in character and intensity from its blended village Puligny-Montrachet. It is raised for eleven months in barrel with a small proportion of new oak, then rested in stainless steel before bottling, in the clean, precise style that has made Jean-Louis Chavy a favourite among Puligny's family domaines.
Drinking well young, and with the structure to reward a few years in the cellar.
