2004 Chateau Pichon Longueville Baron Magnum 1.5L

Critic Reviews
94 Points - Yohan Castaing, Decanter
“Pichon Baron 2004 impresses by its youthful energy and a floral bouquet brimming with black fruit including cherry. Aeration reveals a delightful minty freshness. A succulent, juicy attack leads the way to a full-bodied and velvety structure of elegant tannins. Here is a wine suffused with that now signature Pichon combination of energy, tension, and mineral sensations. Superb wine.”
94 Points - Jane Anson, Decanter
“A vintage that is tasting great right now, still muscular and a little bit foursquare but with concentrated cassis and blackberry fruits, waves of fresh mint leaf and eucalyptus on the finish. This is juicy and enjoyable. 80% new oak. Jean-Rene Matignon technical director, Eric Boissenot consultant.”
93 Points - Tom Cannavan, wine-pages.com
“A big, juicy and blackcurranty nose, with lovely coffeeish depth, this seems very open and approachable, classic components without, perhaps, as much sense of expectation/anticipation as the younger wines. A lightly open bloodiness too. On the palate has good fruit and a firm edge of coffee and liquorice, very nice fruit and a juicy freshness. A very nice wine, without the concentration and structure of the 2005 for example.”
