Critic Reviews
96 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
“Deep, impenetrable purple, grading all the way to the rim; the bouquet sends wave upon wave of blackberry and black cherry fruit, coupled with licorice, to announce the spectacular palate that follows; oak plus touches of licorice and bitter chocolate join forces with the fruits of the bouquet; despite its massive frame, the wine is well-balanced and, cork permitting, has many decades in front of it. Do remember that this is for lovers of full-bodied Barossa shiraz, and is rated for them.”

“Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2010 Shiraz Clos Otto shows expressive notes of cassis, blackberry preserves, mint and licorice highlighted by dark chocolate, earth and loam hints plus whiffs of cinnamon and cardamom. Full-bodied and quite elegant in the mouth, it is nicely balanced between medium to high acid and medium to firm, velvety tannins before finishing long. Drink it from 2015 to 2030+.”
