2014 Dutschke Reserve Oscar Semmler Shiraz

Critic Reviews
96 Points - James Halliday, The Weekend Australian
“40+yo vines, destemmed, open-fermented with cultured yeast, 12 days on skins, matured for 19 months in French hogsheads (75% new). Deep crimson-purple; absolutely from the big end of town, yet has grace, Rolls Royce style. The balance is impeccable, the mouthfeel totally harmonious, the black fruits, licorice and spice supported by fine-grained tannins, the new oak integrated but positive.”
95 Points - Tyson Stelzer, Wine Companion
“Oscar is St Jakobi on the next level of power, depth and concentration, which does not necessarily make it better. But in seasons of contemplative allure and poised restraint, the extra layers and intensity of Oscar are compelling indeed, and 2014 is the epitome. Black fruit power of seamless carry is underlined by bright acidity and compellingly fine tannins. Wow.”
