2021 Pierro 'VR' Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic Reviews
96 Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
“This a precise cabernet. Succulent, fine boned, a shimmy of granite-laced tannin drawing in dark chocolate-cherry, cassis, boysenberry notes with the dusting of mocha powder, dried bay leaf and white pepper sending messages about complexity. Such fleshy texture and yet silky drawl at once - a masterclass in cabernet texture, extension of flavour, persistence of spice and deep fruit character. Wonderfully and evocatively perfumed too. Some power here, but grace likewise. Top flight.”
94 Points - Erin Larkin, The Wine Advocate
“The 2021 Vintage Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon leads with dark fruit and exotic spice, a fete of bay leaf, dried sage, tapenade and brine. This is sophisticated Cabernet here, with an elegant and persistent middle palate and finish. Gentle, as all the Pierro Cabernets tend to be, this is the densest and most concentrated of the release this year. It is very good. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.”
