The 1995 Henschke Hill of Grace is from an exceptional vintage and one of the great South Australian Shiraz of its era. Rated 95 points by Huon Hooke and 94 points by James Suckling, it was ranked #3 of 18 Shiraz from South Australia. Jancis Robinson awarded it 19/20.

“Exceptional vintage. Medium brick-red with a tawny rim, and the wine looks a little more developed than expected. Peppermint aroma. Bright, fresh and youthful on the nose and palate. A big, bold, bright fruited minty style with firm persistent tannins and youthful structure. Very long, and seems set for a very long life. Serious wine.”

“Excellent vintage. A slightly more lifted wine with an exotic citrus rind note amid spicy perfume, iodine and some roasted duck meat - looking more evolved than the earlier '90s wines preceding it, complex and engaging though. The palate has an even spread of tannin and delivers plenty of depth and drive, quite dark and more brooding flavours, plums throughout, plenty of structure. Drink now.”
