Critic Reviews

96 Points - Decanter, Decanter

“The balance between the wine’s tension and forward fruit is compelling. The grapes come from almost three-quarters of a hectare near the base of the slope. They were partially destemmed and fermented on native yeasts before ageing in cask. (CC)”

96 Points - Jasper Morris, Decanter

“A fresh and lively purple with good depth. There is energy here as well as sensuality, with a bouquet growing in stature. No single fruit takes the lead; instead, they build a sensual mid-palate, with a few spicy notes lifting the finish. Everything is perfectly in place for the long term. Drink from 2032–2040.”

96 Points - Vinous

“The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru comes from a parcel between Tremblay and Leroy. It shows a pleasing strictness on the nose, contrasting with the more flattering Charmes-Chambertin tasted alongside it. Black cherries, wild strawberries and crushed violets emerge, with an underlying mineralité revealed with aeration and a hint of black olive. The palate is well-balanced, with firm tannins on the entry. This is a Les Beaux Monts with depth and volume, cracked black pepper and clove infusing the black fruit. Dense towards the finish, yet not sinewy, it may close up with time in bottle. (NM)”

95 Points - Wine Advocate

“The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts is another standout this year, offering aromas of cherries and raspberries layered with notes of tea-smoked duck and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and vibrant, it has a concentrated core of fruit underpinned by bright acidity and concludes with a youthfully chalky finish. Harvest at Domaine Dujac began on August 29. Jeremy Seysses initially viewed the vintage as potentially reminiscent of 2018, though tasting later revealed greater delicacy, aided by even more cautious extraction in 2022. The result is a superbly balanced wine uniting charm and density, retaining the domaine’s distinctive identity. (WK)”
