2024 Riesling from Tasmania
Aromas of green pear, grapefruit, bath salts and nettle. Pretty and lifted. The palate has lashings of just-ripe nectarine, pithy lemon, talc and guava action happening. The acidity is punchy and delivers a fair whack of zing and zap

The Vineyard
Planted in 1974 on Tasmania’s east coast, our vineyard at Bream Creek is one of the state’s oldest. The original 5 hectares consisted mainly of Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller plantings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer.

The vineyard was purchased by Fred Peacock in August 1990, who increased Pinot Noir plantings and introduced Sauvignon Blanc and Schonburger (one of the earliest commercial plantings in the Southern Hemisphere of this rare German varietal). With Fred's trademark dedication and passion, this pristine vineyard is now a showcase of grape varieties ideally suited to the cool maritime climate of East coast Tasmania.

Critic Reviews

93 Points - Dave Brookes, Wine Companion

“Pale straw with a flash of green and aromas of freshly squeezed lime, crunchy green apple and grapefruit. Hints of orange blossom, crushed riverstone, sea spray, almond paste and lime cordial. Flavoursome and tightly focused, finishing dry and long with just a squeak of pithy texture and a nice savoury palate shape. Ranked #5 of 18 2024 Riesling from Tasmania”
